📷How to Create a Lesson with Direct Video Upload

Creating video-based lessons by directly uploading your files to the LDT Online Courses app ensures a secure and high-performance viewing experience for your students. This guide will walk you through the entire process, from uploading to customizing advanced settings.

Step 1: Navigate to the Lesson Editor

From your Shopify Admin, go to Apps -> LDT Online Courses.

In the app's sidebar, click on Courses to see a list of your courses.

Select the course > the module that you want students to look video lession.

Step 2: Add a Video Content Block

Inside the lesson editor, scroll down to the Contents section.

Click on Add new content and select Videos > Click Add

A new video block will be added to your lesson.

Step 3: Upload and Process Your Video

Click the upload button in the video block to select a file from your computer.

The video will be uploaded and our system will automatically begin processing it. This "transcoding" process optimizes the video for secure, fast, and smooth streaming across all devices.

The video you just uploaded has been stored on our system, next select the video you want your students to see in the lesson.

Step 4: Customize Video Settings

Once your video has been processed, you can customize various settings to enhance the learning experience. Click on the video block to access these options:

General Settings:

  • Learning Quality Assurance: The "Student have to finish video before complete the lesson" and "Minimum watch time (95%)" features demonstrate anti-cheating goals, ensuring that students truly absorb the lecture, thereby enhancing the value and reputation of the course.

Optimization:

This section shows you the different video qualities (e.g., 360p, 720p, 1080p) that have been generated from your upload. Our system automatically optimizes the video for various screen sizes and internet speeds.

Thumbnail:

You can choose a thumbnail for your video to make it more appealing. Click the Upload button to select a custom image from your computer. This image will be displayed before the video starts playing.

Chapters:

Chapters allow you to break down a long video into smaller, more manageable segments.

To add a chapter, click the Add chapters button.

For each chapter, you can set a Start time and a Title (e.g., 00:00 - Introduction, 05:30 - Key Concepts). This helps students navigate the video content more easily.

Subtitles:

You can add subtitles to your video to make it more accessible.

Click the Add subtitles button and upload an SRT file.

You can add multiple subtitle files for different languages.

After you have finished customizing all the settings, click Save to apply the changes to your lesson.
