# How to Use Drip Settings to Unlock Lessons Over Time

The Drip Settings feature allows you to automatically release your course lessons over a set period (e.g., after 3 days, 1 week, or 1 month from when a student enrolls). This helps you control the pace of your students' learning, preventing them from feeling overwhelmed by too much content at once.

#### How to Set Up Drip Settings

When creating or editing a module/lesson, navigate to the **Access & Visibility section**.

Click the dropdown menu and select "**Drip**."

A new field will appear where you can define the time frame for the content to be unlocked.

* For example, choose "Display after 7 days."

Save the module/lesson to apply these changes. The content will now automatically be released to students after the specified time.

#### Benefits for Your Course

* **Increased Course Completion**: By guiding students through a structured, scheduled learning path, you encourage consistent progress and improve the course completion rate.
* **Streamlined Experience**: The content is delivered automatically, reducing the need for manual management and ensuring a smooth, hassle-free experience for both you and your students.
* **Flexibility**: You can apply drip settings to individual lessons or entire modules, giving you full control over your course structure.

For best results, combine the drip feature with the "**Require student to complete before next**" option to ensure students are following the curriculum as intended.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://helpdesk.ldtsoft.work/ldt-online-course/course-management/how-to-use-drip-settings-to-unlock-lessons-over-time.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
